Mastering Color: A Hands-On Color Theory Workshop
Transform your painting practice from guesswork to mastery in the heart of the Kansas City Crossroads.
Do you ever feel frustrated when your colors turn to “mud”? Or perhaps you struggle to match the exact hue you see in your mind? Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned painter looking to sharpen your skills, the Mastering Color Workshop is designed to give you total control over your palette.
Hosted at Vanessa Lacy’s Art Studio, this intensive four-hour workshop strips away the confusion of color mixing. Using a “split primary” palette, you will learn to mix vibrant secondaries, sophisticated neutrals, and rich chromatic blacks that bring life and depth to your artwork.
Why Join This Workshop?
Stop Wasting Paint: Learn to hit your target color on the first or second try.
Create Harmony: Master the art of mixing complementary colors for natural-looking grays and browns.
Boost Confidence: Move from “trial and error” to an intuitive, empowered painting process.
Professional Guidance: Receive personalized instruction in a working professional art studio.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this 4-part hands-on session, you will be able to:
Master the Vocabulary: Understand the “why” behind hue, value, and saturation.
The Power of Split Primaries: Navigate a professional palette for maximum color range.
Value Control: Mix perfect tints and shades without losing color clarity.
Complex Neutrals: Ditch the “tube black” and learn to mix rich, temperature-controlled chromatic blacks and grays (warm, cool, and neutral).
The Artist’s Eye: Improve your ability to “see” and match colors in the real world.
