Cerbera Gallery is pleased to announce “BE, AND KNOW,” an exhibition of photographic works by David K. Pugh, on view September 4 through November 21, 2026. A collectors reception will be held Thursday, September 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In “BE, AND KNOW,” Pugh creates a visual language for the often-felt “out of body” sensation, particularly as it arises during moments of intense emotion. The images in this series map the artist’s inner world as he learns to be, and know, peace. Recurring floral elements anchor the work in the present moment, giving form to an ongoing conversation between mind and body.
“Photography is my way of understanding light — how it behaves and how it surprises,” Pugh says. “It’s the constant exploration of light and how to play with it that keeps me interested. I first fell in love with photographing nature, then over time that curiosity expanded to other subjects.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST
David K. Pugh is a photographer whose portfolio spans portraiture, dance photography, nature, and personal documentation. His practice is grounded in the study of light — its behavior, its unpredictability, and the ways it can be shaped — an interest that began with photographing the natural world and has since expanded across subjects. More of his work can be seen at davidkpughphoto.com.
The exhibition invites viewers into a contemplative space where perception and presence intersect — where the act of looking becomes, itself, a practice of stillness.
