Vania Soto is a Kansas City-based artist, muralist, and instructor, celebrated for her vibrant, culturally rich art that brings the spirit of her Mexican heritage to life. Named Best Artist in Kansas City by The Pitch Magazine in 2021, Vania’s work spans across various mediums, including murals, oil paintings, and commissioned portraits. Her distinct style is recognized for its bold colors and expressive storytelling, often drawing on themes of resilience, community, and cultural pride.

As the founder of Monarca Art Space, a gallery located in Kansas City’s West Bottoms, Vania has created a platform to showcase underrepresented voices, providing opportunities for local artists of color to exhibit their work and develop their entrepreneurial skills. With a mission to make art accessible and empowering, Vania also leads art classes for youth, where she shares her expertise in painting and entrepreneurship, helping young artists learn how to market, price, and package their artwork.

Through her murals across Kansas and Missouri, Vania has become a visual storyteller in public spaces, transforming walls into narratives that reflect the strength and beauty of her community. Her work has also extended into meaningful collaborations, including a recent portrait for the White Ribbon Project, where she used her art to honor the legacy of those affected by lung cancer.

Whether teaching, painting, or curating, Vania is dedicated to creating spaces where art connects people, celebrates diversity, and inspires future generations. She continues to push the boundaries of her own artistry while advocating for better representation and opportunities for artists from all backgrounds.
