Born in Kansas City and raised in both her hometown and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Liz Gonzalez, also known as Zelaznogzil, is an artist whose journey of self-discovery inspires her work. Her art reflects a transformation of pain into power and silence into vibrant expressions, inspired by the belief in “maktub”—that her journey was written for her. Through every piece, Zelaznogzil celebrates the beauty of existence and aims to spread joy and hope to all who encounter her work.Growing up between two cultures, her turbulent upbringing inspired a deep connection to art, which became her refuge and voice when words failed. As a proud Chicana, she weaves themes of resilience, cultural identity, and self-realization into every piece, infusing her creations with profound emotion and meaning.
