I enjoy creating art in my studio space located in Leawood, Kansas as well as teaching art at a variety of venues in the Kansas City area. In my work,  I primarily use oil and cold wax which allows me to develop history in my paintings with layers, textures and lines. Engaging the viewer and bringing a sense of place to my paintings is expressed in my abstractions of landscapes, nature and the world around me. As a former manager of school programs and an educator at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art I have enjoyed opening up the world of art to students of all ages through creative programming. Before employment at the museum, I was an art educator in public and private schools as well as a graphic designer and illustrator for corporations in the Kansas City area. Exhibitions include solo and group shows in the Kansas City and Dallas areas with works held in private collections in New York, Chicago, Portland, Dallas and Kansas City.
