When it comes to art, I grew up never seeing myself as anything more than a musician. I played piano in my spare time and wrote songs to both escape and process the chaotic and traumatic world around me. It wasn’t until my 40’s when I finally realized that my artistry does and has always branched across many disciplines. That realization has lead to my own personal renaissance as I continue to explore and build on those rediscovered passions.

Though I self-published two albums of piano balladry, I ultimately set my musical aspirations aside to focus on those neglected facets of my artistic passion. Abstract fluid art started this journey. This reinvigorated my interest in drawing, and that led to my enduring passion of designing enamel pins. Most of these pins function as makeshift memento mori, using anthropomorphized food to communicate complex feelings and ideas.

As I was honing and developing these visual arts endeavors, I spent a lot of time at museums writing an art blog. Interestingly enough, this spurred an intense need (not desire, but need) to write. In the past three years, I have written two novels (both in various stages of revisions) and continue to explore even more characters and stories, all while designing more pins and stickers for my Etsy shop.
