As a new, self-taught painter, I feel no pressure to conform to a particular artistic style or trend but instead celebrate complete freedom to express myself through open-ended exploration and experimentation.

Painting is therefore a very personal endeavor, one that enables me to express ideas, moods, and entire stories without relying solely on words to communicate them.

The style and subject matter of my paintings are as varied as the techniques and tools I use to create them and the stories I want them to tell.  Some of my paintings present recognizable figures like the ones where dogs are realistically represented.  Other paintings rely on vague, ambiguous references that suggest subjects like fanciful landscapes and the idiosyncratic avatars who occupy them.

Whether realistic or idealistic, my paintings are most often about telling a good story.  I am inspired by narrative art and the long history of weaving together symbols, analogies, emotions, memories, and fables to engage viewers in immersive visual experiences that touch common human chords.
