Angie Harris

Angie Harris is a fine art and portrait photographer from Pleasant Hill, Missouri.  Angie has enjoyed art and photography from a young age. She attended the University of Central Missouri and studied Graphic Design.  Since graduating with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, she has continued to study photography by taking and photography classes at the Kansas City Art Institute and attending photography workshops around the U.S.

Angie started her photography business in 2011, offering portrait photography including weddings and high school senior photography, as well as fine art photography. In 2017, she started to shift her focus to exclusively fine art photography. She displays her photography at art fairs around Missouri and local art galleries and shops around Kansas City and surrounding areas and has also exhibited her photography in a group photography exhibit in Denver, Colorado.

Angie Harris – Artist Statement

I have enjoyed art and photography from a young age, and I always knew that I wanted to pursue the creative arts in some manner as an adult.  While I was interested in photography when I was a kid and into high school, it wasn’t my main focus, instead, more of a hobby for me.   I became more interested in photography when I was in college, and it was after college when I started to seriously consider photography as a potential career for myself.

I am drawn to photographing ordinary things that most people overlook.  From focusing on small areas of a large object, or capturing a beautiful landscape to the stars in the night sky, I try to capture the beauty in ordinary things.
